About the Project

Welcome to The Time Tale

This is an anthology of stories from the future. The stories are fictional; from what we have experienced and where we believe the world is heading.

The tales are built around ‘Development’ and ‘MaDe’. Development is a digital universe created by the kid genius Tariku Negasi. Negasi and his team designed a device – MaDe – that can take humans to Development.

A brief summary of the Time Tale story

There are two sets of stories.

The World Stories – They chronicle the transition of the world from our time to the future on Development. They also cover all that led humanity to that ‘world’.

The Letters – These are stories from people in the future who share their experiences on Earth and on Development. The Letters touch on a variety of issues that give us a picture of the future we are creating. They help us assess how today’s social issues and desires affect our future.

Our stories are meant to entertain, but more importantly to start conversations. They should make us reassess the choices and decisions we make today.

The Podcast: The Time Tale – Deep Dive

A deep dive into the time tale and all the intriguing themes of the project

The podcast explores the letters and discusses each of these to draw parallels with our lives today.

Through thought-provoking discussions, we unravel how Development (Dev) challenges our deepest notions of identity, memory, culture, and the soul itself. Can heritage and digital existence coexist, or does this new world erase everything we call home? Are we touching Utopia, or just another illusion that tempts us to leave behind the tangible world that shaped us?

In each episode, we delve into the minds of people grappling with the monumental choice: to transcend or remain? This isn’t just about tech; it’s about the survival of humanity as we know it.

Join our adventure

More perspectives; a better future.

The best ideas can come from anywhere and from anybody. The more inclusive the planning, the more universal the solution. We’d love to hear your opinion and how you think this digital universe will change life from your perspective.

How to Read the Time Tale

To get a clear picture of what the world we imagine looks like, we suggest you start by reading two foundational stories;

Read ‘The Origin’ then read ‘The World As We Know It’. After that, you can read any of the Letters to see how these changes would affect people in both worlds.

Tomorrow is Yesterday

The story is still unfolding. We are still unraveling the future and we’ll keep sharing these stories.

Want to stay ahead of time? We’ll tell you when there’s a new story.
